an interview with Blessing Manifesting…

It’s my pleasure today to have an interview with the lovely Dominee from Blessing Manifesting!

Simply visiting her website brings me a feeling a peace and calm, a sense of being held in a safe a loving space. Her blog posts are inspiring, her posts on twitter and facebook are uplifting and full of self-love and self-care tips. Her site is just one of my all-around favorite places.

So let’s get to the questions…

Would you give a general overview of what your website, Blessing Manifesting, is all about and what you offer there?

Blessing Manifesting is all about embracing your individual journey to being in love with yourself. The journey is not the same for everyone and my job is to encourage you to embark on your own path to a life that feels magical and nourishing for you. I offer Oracle Card readings, coaching sessions by email, and ebooks to help you get in touch with holistic healing practices as well as self love.

What led you to start Blessing Manifesting? And was there one moment when you just “knew” this was something you felt you wanted or needed to do, or was it a more gradual process of discovery?

Blessing Manifesting came about in a flash of “This is something you are meant to do, trust, pay attention, and just let yourself out there.” I had been feeling left out for quite a few months as I was introduced to so many amazing woman through the Goddess Circle. They had their own blogs and businesses and it was something that I wanted for myself even though I had no idea how to come up with a business or how to make it happen. I told myself not to push it, not to stress about it, and if I was meant to do something, it would come to me in its own time. It did.

It’s such a lovely name for a site and a business… Would you share what the name means to you and how you chose it?

The name was inspired by a song, Exactly by Amy Steinberg. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqZYd2UCfI8) I was going through a tough time in life and the lyrics just touched me so deeply. “I am exactly where I need to be, I need to be exactly where I am, I am a blessing manifesting.” It helped me to realize that each moment of my life, whether it be spent in pain, grief, or joy, holds wisdom. Each moment is a blessing that’s happening right now, even if I can’t see it in that moment.

What have been a few of the important steps you’ve taken on your own spiritual and creative journey?

Spiritually the most important step that I’ve ever taken is realizing that I am a small part of the whole. I acknowledge that I am part of Mama Earth, of Great Spirit, of my Ancestors, of you. To realize that I am so connected to every thread that weaves the world together. That I am never alone. That knowledge was such a spiritually nurturing epiphany for me.

Creatively I had to step back and let go of my need for perfection and my need to be the best. Nothing that I do is going to be perfect and that’s okay. The most important part of being creative, is showing up and being creative. The end result is what it is, showing up and embracing the creative is what really matters.

Do you have a favorite form of meditation?

My favorite form of meditation is zoning out while listening to guided meditations. I love relaxing and letting my mind travel to a calm and safe place. My favorite meditation is The Cliff from http://meditation.org.au. It starts out with imagining yourself standing on the edge of a cliff, looking out over the ocean as the sun begins to rise. You step forward, until just one foot is balancing on the cliff and then you lean forward and fall, and then you unfurl your wings and begin to soar. It always brings me a great sense of calm and it allows me to empty out any negative feelings or emotions that I’m having.

Do you have a favorite crystal (or several) that you like to work with? How about a favorite essential oil?

I love crystals and I love essential oils, they are my go-to tools for dealing with stress and anxiety. My favorite crystals have always been ones that create a calming atmosphere like celestite, rainbow fluorite, and amethyst. The more I experiment with different crystals the more appreciation I have for crystals like sunstone and citrine, which have more empowering attributes.

As far as oil goes I wear a dab of lavender every day and I spray my bed with a mixture of lavender and chammomile to help me relax, unwind, and sleep well.

What are some of your favorite ways to de-stress and reconnect to your own inner harmony?

Apart from using oils, crystals, and meditation, I think that the best way to connect with my own inner harmony is to write or journal. When I am writing down all of the things that I am feeling it tends to allow me to recalibrate, to look at everything that I am feeling from an objective point of view and if I’m dealing with something tough, it usually lets me figure out how to deal with it in a productive way. I am also a huge fan of naps or putting piles of blankets and pillows onto my bed and making a cozy nest for reading novels.

I love quotes, and I love all the inspirational quotes you share on facebook and twitter! Do you have a favorite quote?

Oh this is such a difficult question because I really love them all! Every day I post an inspirational quote that I personally love or find meaningful. I have so many favorites among them that it’s so difficult to choose just one! A quote that is really resonating with me right now would have to be by Maya Angelou. “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

What is one of the most valuable life lessons you’ve learned and would like to share?

The most valuable thing that I’ve learned so far is that when you truly love yourself you open yourself up to experiencing so many beautiful miracles. Loving yourself is a process, it doesn’t happen overnight and I’m not sure if it’s something that you ever truly complete. What I do know is that the journey, no matter how long it takes you, or where it leads you to, is one of the most honest and beautiful things that you will ever experience.
